data-mm-id=”_4vk0mmlzm”>Tyrod Taylor has yet again found himself in a familiar spot. Three years after getting forced out of Buffalo for first-round pick Josh Allen and two years after getting ousted from Cleveland for first-round pick Baker Mayfield, he holds the top spot on the Los Angeles Chargers depth chart with first-round pick Justin Herbert sitting behind him. For now, that is. Given Taylor's journeyman career as a solid-at-best QB who will be 31 when the season starts, most assume it's a foregone conclusion that Taylor will be replaced at some point in 2020 by Herbert, the man the team selected in hopes of finding a new face of the franchise. NFL Network's Mike Silver disagrees, and said as much today, explaining why he believes Taylor will be under center for all of the 2020 season: How long will Tyrod Taylor keep his job as @Chargers QB? I'm going with… all season ??♂️ pic.twitter.com/f2zA5qtQ98— Michael Silver (@MikeSilver) May 12, 2020I half-agree with Silver here. It isn't a secret that Anthony Lynn loves Taylor, and reports have suggested all offseason that Lynn wants to run the kind of conservative, mobile QB offense that Taylor succeeded in with Lynn in Buffalo. Whether they actually believe it or not, the Chargers have to put forth the view that they believe they can win this year, because they want to draw fans to their new stadium. On paper, they have enough talent to not bottom out. Given the importance of public perception for the franchise right now, if they believe Taylor gives them a chance to win even one more game than Herbert would, Taylor will start until he proves otherwise. One of the biggest knocks against Herbert coming into the draft is that he isn't a terribly vocal leader or personality. Silver contrasts that with Taylor's previous stop in Cleveland, essentially suggesting that Mayfield's magnetic persona meant it was inevitable he would replace Taylor. The fact that Herbert is not like that decreases the likelihood of him replacing Taylor in 2020, according to Silver. If Taylor himself were that kind of outgoing leader, Herbert's soft-spoken manner could be an obstacle towards claiming that starting job. But, from everything we've heard, Taylor is way more like Herbert than he is Mayfield. So, with that in mind, I very much doubt how charismatic Herbert is will be playing a big factor in whether or not he ends up the starting signal-caller. As it always does, this will come down to winning. It's not exactly insightful, but also not wrong, for me to point out that Herbert will be handed the top spot on the depth chart on a silver platter if the Chargers go 2-6 or 3-5 in the first half of the year with Taylor at the helm. But I don't think they'll have to lose that many games to consider a change. If Taylor is as expected and plays just well enough to secure a .500 record halfway through the season, the Chargers will still definitely be thinking about Herbert. They play in the same division as the reigning champs and Patrick Mahomes, who is just getting started. Seeing if Herbert can become Mahomes' in-division rival for the next decade is more important than Taylor getting the team three more wins than they would have otherwise. Of course, as previously mentioned, the Chargers are in a position where they can't exactly come out and say that. The hope of fans is that they know it, anyway. Whether they act on that will prove Silver right or wrong here.

Market: Rangers win and over 1.5 goals
Odds:
With many around Ibrox dreaming that their side can clinch their first Premiership title 2011, a high-flying Rangers will travel to Hearts on Sunday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, slumping to a 1-0 loss at home to Kilmarnock prior to the international break, the mood in Hearts camp remains incredibly fragile. With many demanding that Head Coach Craig Levin step down from his role, fans around Tynecastle Park have seen their side win just one of their last 15 Premiership outings, a run that stems all the way back to the 30th of March. A huge part of their continued issues of late have come down to their continued struggles on home soil. Losing back-to-back defeats in Edinburgh, they have now failed to win any of…
Hwang Hee-chan scored a stoppage-time winner to beat Portugal 2-1 and put South Korea through to the last 16 of the World Cup at the expense of Uruguay in a dramatic conclusion to Group H.
The Taeguk Warriors appeared to be heading out as they looked set to draw while Uruguay led Ghana elsewhere, but Hwang netted at the end to complete an incredible turnaround.
Ricardo Horta had put Portugal in front early on, but they failed to heed the warning posed by Kim Jin-su s disallowed goal soon after, with Kim Young-gwon deservedly getting South Korea back on level terms.
Portugal – who won the group anyway – coasted through the second half and South Korea took full advantage, with Hwang landing the decisive blow to spark bedlam and send Uruguay packing.

Mauricio Pochettino acknowledges he is a completely different coach to the fresh-faced tactician who enjoyed early career successes against Pep Guardiola.
Pochettino s Tottenham host Guardiola s Manchester City at Wembley on Monday, with the Premier League champions nine games into an unbeaten start to their title defence.
Despite an underwhelming Champions League campaign to date, Spurs have been similarly impressive domestically this term and victory at England s national stadium would see them leapfrog City in the standings.
A 2-0 win in the same fixture at White Hart Lane in 2016 saw Pochettino hand Guardiola his first defeat in English football but it was not the first time he had got the better of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

The expectations on Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund are higher than they ever were for Robert Lewandowski when he joined the club, according to former BVB captain Sebastian Kehl.
Haaland made an electric start to his Dortmund career after signing from Salzburg in January, scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for the club in 2019-20.
The 20-year-old striker hit a double in their season-opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach but struggled in the 2-0 defeat to Augsburg on Saturday, managing just one shot on target and 19 touches across the entire game.
It was a significant dip for Haaland, who has been touted to follow in the footsteps of Lewandowski, who spent four seasons at Signal Iduna Park between 2010 and 2014.
