data-mm-id=”_j3qnb67mn”>Every guy likes to think he wouldn't be the dude who ends up going viral because he swings and misses at a exploding ball as part of a gender reveal party or whatever. It happens to plenty of other people but surely it would not happen to him. "I'd hit that out of the park," is the thought that occurs to every man in existence when watching such a gender reveal gaffe. But if even David Ortiz misses, well… it's hard to really believe that anymore. On Monday night, Ortiz was having a gender reveal party and got a nice softball down the middle to take a cut at. He completely, utterly, and totally whiffed. It didn't even seem like he got close, which led to an amusing scene of Ortiz bending over to grab the ball while the blue confetti cannons went off and everyone around him went nuts. Big Papi Jr. is on the way!. pic.twitter.com/o3Z3knQ0Aw— Héctor Gómez (@hgomez27) January 2, 2024Nobody was prepared for the possibility he would miss because he's freaking David Ortiz. Which is fair! He only hit 541 home runs over the course of his career while solidifying his reputation as one of baseball's greatest playoff performers in the sport's lengthy history. One would think Ortiz would be automatic for one of the biggest moments of his personal life in learning the gender of his child. But that's the beauty of sports, man. Nothing is guaranteed. The games always have to be played. Or gender reveals, I guess. Time for Big Papi to get back in the batting cage if he's planning on having more kids. Can't have that happen again.

Mauricio Pochettino acknowledges he is a completely different coach to the fresh-faced tactician who enjoyed early career successes against Pep Guardiola.
Pochettino s Tottenham host Guardiola s Manchester City at Wembley on Monday, with the Premier League champions nine games into an unbeaten start to their title defence.
Despite an underwhelming Champions League campaign to date, Spurs have been similarly impressive domestically this term and victory at England s national stadium would see them leapfrog City in the standings.
A 2-0 win in the same fixture at White Hart Lane in 2016 saw Pochettino hand Guardiola his first defeat in English football but it was not the first time he had got the better of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

The expectations on Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund are higher than they ever were for Robert Lewandowski when he joined the club, according to former BVB captain Sebastian Kehl.
Haaland made an electric start to his Dortmund career after signing from Salzburg in January, scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for the club in 2019-20.
The 20-year-old striker hit a double in their season-opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach but struggled in the 2-0 defeat to Augsburg on Saturday, managing just one shot on target and 19 touches across the entire game.
It was a significant dip for Haaland, who has been touted to follow in the footsteps of Lewandowski, who spent four seasons at Signal Iduna Park between 2010 and 2014.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Milan can end Juventus Scudetto dominance after his double ensured a 2-1 derby win over Inter.
Milan are top of Serie A with the league s only 100 per cent record after seeing off their city rivals.
Ibrahimovic put Milan 2-0 up inside 16 minutes, with Romelu Lukaku pulling one back before the half-hour for Inter.
Inter could not complete the comeback, though, meaning Milan are three points ahead of Atalanta through four games.
Stefano Pioli s men have not lost since a 2-1 defeat to Genoa in March and Ibrahimovic sees no reason Milan cannot regain the title they last won in 2011 before Juve s run of nine successive Scudetti.
He told Sky Sport Italia: We are at the beginning. Since I arrived, the team has been doing …

The visitors opened the scoring inside six minutes, the 10th time Notts County have conceded inside the opening 10 minutes this season and something Maynard is keen to address.
“Look, we’ve conceded within five minutes again.…
